Welcome to St Laurence Church

St Laurence, Pittington is one of the most interesting mediaeval churches in the Diocese of Durham.

St Laurence Church, Pittington in springThe present church building dates from around 1100, although there is evidence of fragments of an earlier, pre-Norman building.  Throughout the centuries, St Laurence Church has provided a place of worship to the people of Hallgarth and Pittington.  Now in the 21st century, we still aim to provide a place of worship, hospitality and service for our community.

Join us by coming to one of our services, joining a house group, or attending one of our social events.  Or you may be interested in getting married at St Laurence or arranging a baptism.  You may just like to visit us to experience the peace and beauty of the church and our church yard.  Whatever your reason – you are more than welcome.
